"As avid cyclists and outdoor enthusiasts, we found the frequent, and sometimes constant, drone of wind noise annoying and potentially dangerous.  Wind noise masks surrounding sounds and at moderate wind speeds, can easily exceed 85 dB.  In addition, longer-term exposure to excessive noise >85 dB can impact hearing.  As a result, we started investigating solutions to reduce wind noise... but found few that addressed the unique wind noise related issues encountered by outdoor enthusiasts.  And so, the story of Cat-Ears / AirStreamz wind noise reduction products began."

Richard Weissner

Managing Director

Rick's background includes a twenty-five year operations and risk management career with General Electric, including foreign assignments. Upon moving back to Colorado he started a consulting company and focused on projects for Harley Davidson. Rick holds a BA in Economics from the University of Colorado Boulder and he completed his international studies at Uppsala University, Sweden.  He is a member of the Acoustical Society of America, the Audio Engineering Society, and the League of American Bicyclists.

Rick obtained his first wind noise reduction patent in 2015.

Heidi Weissner

Director | Operations

Heidi began her career with General Electric before moving on to a long career as a paralegal. Since 2012, she has initiated numerous product improvements, expanded the product line, and developed proprietary manufacturing techniques. Heidi manages the presence, website fulfillment, customer satisfaction, and special order pricing.  She also works very closely with our product manufacturing company in New Jersey.

In addition, Heidi handles legal, patent, and trademark work.

Tom Swift

Chief Technical Officer

Tom is past President of IT manufacturer Raritan, Inc., and prior to that he served as VP of Lucent Technologies and in many capacities at AT&T / Bell Laboratories. Tom began his career at Ford Motor Company. He holds a B.S.E. in Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering from Princeton, an MS in Applied Mechanics from Stanford, and an MBA from the University of Michigan. Tom focuses on research, consulting services, materials engineering, and the physics underlying the effectiveness of Cat-Ears / AirStreamz products.
